How do we care for the widows?
Updated: Mar 17, 2021
We all have experienced some loss and disappointment in our lives.
Some of you may have experienced “trivial” loss (if that is even a thing) and others tremendous amounts of loss. In my own life, I have never lost someone in my immediate family but I do know others who have. It is at those times when I see others truly grieving that I have felt a little lost. What is the right thing to say? What do they need? How can I help?
Well, I am speaking to someone who is going to give us insight into this very topic that is going to encourage you and strengthen you to love others well in the midst of loss. The Bible is clear that we are to love and care for the widows and my guest is going to help us take those first steps to do just that.
In this episode, Rebecca Gore and I chat about what it means to care for the widow in our church + otherwise, continuing to raise her children after her husband's passing, AND the hope that Rebecca has found on the other side of losing him.
Rebecca is an author, a blogger, a widow, a mother, a speaker and a pastor from Southern Wisconsin! She also has a heart for missions. Rebecca released her first book Perspective: Seeing Life through the Eyes of Jesus in 2018 about seeing through His eyes no matter what your current view is. More recently, she had the opportunity to co-write the song “Still Wonderful” with the band, JohnnySwim.
