How to Create Connection Through Hospitality
Updated: Mar 17, 2021

NOTE: We recorded this episode quite a few weeks in advance before there were any strong pleas not to host in our homes anymore. We hope you bank some of these ideas for the future, get creative in the present and continue to be safe!
This week we are taking a fun, Christmas-y intermission from our advocacy series to discuss
hospitality. My guess is that when you hear this word, you are either rejoicing OR you are breaking out in hives. To be honest, it is one of my FAVOURITE things, and I am full of ideas when it comes to holiday hosting, but… I know that is not the case for everyone.
ALSO, this year is just weird with hosting, so I know that not everyone is going to be on board to invite a ton of people into their home, but my guest today quickly explains that hospitality is not just about having people over, it is so much more than that.
In this episode, Morgan Tyree discusses her new book, “Your Hospitality Personality: How to Confidently Create Connection and Community.” She speaks about Christmas hosting and gives plenty of practical advice on hosting a meaningful, connected, and Kingdom-building gathering. As you listen, I hope you write down some of the practical information but also start to see which of the hospitality personalities you might resonate with the most.
Morgan answers questions like...
What is the purpose of hospitality? How does it intersect with faith and building God's Kingdom?
Why is it significant that we know how we host best?
How do we practically create points of connection when we are gathering (making others feel loved, included, and welcomed)?
